We
provide income tax return preparation for individuals and businesses: partnerships, corporations, not-for-profit
organizations, estates, and trusts. We
can prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns.
Individual Income Tax Preparation
We
generally begin preparation of individual income tax returns in February each
year, once all the banks, employers, and other payers of income have issued
annual Forms 1099 and Forms W-2. We have
three different service formats available:
Time and Charges Service
- We will send you
a tax organizer package to assist you in gathering the required tax information
at year-end.
- Your return will
be reviewed and signed by a CPA.
- We will file your
return electronically at no charge.
Electronic filing is required by the IRS and most states, helps to
reduce processing errors by the tax authority, and increases the speed of
receipt of any refunds due. You can opt
out of electronic filing if you wish, but there are additional processing fees
involved.
- If you are
married, we will calculate to see which filing status (joint or separate)
results in the lowest combined tax liability.
- If a taxing
authority determines that additional taxes or penalties are due from an error
that we caused, we will pay 100% of the interest and penalty.
- If you pay
estimated taxes for the following year, we will mail reminder notices to you
for the second, third and fourth payment dates.
- Fees are based on
our time expended at our standard hourly billing rates.
Silver Level Service
- The Silver Level
Service is the same as the Time and Charges, except we will provide an up-front
quotation of our fees (based on your filing status and level of complexity of
your return for the prior year). If
there is something unusual to cause us to adjust our fees, we will discuss this
with you before proceeding.
Gold Level Service
- The Gold Level
Service is the same as the Silver Level Service, in that we provide an up-front
quotation of our fees. However, the Gold
Level has these added benefits:
- You will have the opportunity for a face-to-face
meeting with an experienced Certified Public Accountant. If your schedule does not allow you this
opportunity, you can arrange for a teleconference with the CPA. The CPA will answer any questions regarding
your current tax return and provide any tax planning ideas.
- If any tax authority questions or audits a tax return
that we have prepared, a CPA will answer all correspondence and represent you
in your tax dispute at no additional charge.
- A CPA will be available, year round, to answer your
questions by telephone or email at no additional charge.
Business Tax Preparation
We
generally prepare most business returns (corporations, partnerships, and
not-for-profit organizations) in conjunction with small business accounting
services we offer. Estate and trust
returns are usually provided in coordination with an attorney representing the
estate or trust. Fees for these services
are usually on a time and charges basis.
